Welcome to Recycling Week 2026!
Recycling Week is New Zealand's largest educational campaign for waste minimisation and recycling.
Since 2013, Recycling Week has been engaging businesses, corporates, schools, universities, retailers, government departments, media, and the general public to be conscious of what is being consumed and how it is disposed. This annual campaign encourages better recycling habits and contributing to a waste free future in NZ.
In 2026, Recycling Week will be held from 19th October - 25th October.
Despite the name, Recycling Week is designed to engage people on not just recycling but considering the whole waste minimisation hierarchy.
Before recycling, the right thing to do is to see whether the material or product can be avoided, reduced, reused, or repaired , with recycling being the LAST resort solution.
Recycling Week aims to educate people on how to approach waste and recycling, changing behaviours and developing more positive disposing habits.
